Student Loan Forgiveness Information

(A message from the NEA Student Debt Team)

Whether you’re an educator nearing the promise of receiving Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) or someone who was enrolled in the SAVE Plan and affected by the court-issued administrative forbearance, rest assured, NEA is here to help you navigate through your student loan repayment options.

While we may not have all the answers yet, we highly suggest that all our members with student loans do the following:

1. Bookmark http://www.nea.org/studentdebt

Check this webpage frequently for the latest resources for educators and their student loans. For example, for those who enrolled in the SAVE plan and were placed into forbearance, learn how to enroll in a different repayment plan to continue working towards loan forgiveness, including PSLF.

2. Text STUDENTDEBT to 48744 to sign up for our student debt text alerts

We frequently send alerts to keep our members updated on important developments about student debt relief programs.

3. Enroll in NEA’s Student Debt Navigator powered by our friends at Savi

NEA members get free access to individualized support with our Student Debt Navigator. If you are struggling with your PSLF application or any issue related to federal student loans, our friends at Savi can assist and provide you the relief you deserve.
